- Desde “Reds” (1981) ninguna película había conseguido estar en las cuatro categorías interpretativas, “Silver Linings Playbook” rompe con más de treinte años de tradición.
- Primera nominacion a los Oscar para una película chilena, “NO” es nominada a “Mejor película extranjera o habla no inglesa”
- Naomi Watts, la segunda intérprete nominada a Mejor Actriz, por una película 100% española.
- Desde 2005 (“Million Dollar Baby”), ninguna película había vuelto a estar nominada en las cinco categorías más importantes (película, director, actor, actriz y guión), “Silver Linings Playbook” lo ha conseguido.
- Ninguna de las cinco nominadas a Mejor Actriz cuenta con el Oscar en su haber… algo que no ocurría desde 2003.

Washington was born in Mount Vernon, near New York City, New York, on December 28, 1954. His father, Reverend Denzel Hayes Washington, Sr., a native of Buckingham County, Virginia, served as an ordained Pentecostal minister, and also worked for the Water Department and at a local department store, S.
